Less experienced folks in the kink scene often think of BDSM as being activities pursued by what are known as Dominants and submissives, or Tops and bottoms. Some other folks know that BDSM is intricately complex and definitely not as cut and dry or “binary” as that idea presents itself. There is a wide spectrum of desires and activities and there is no reason to limit your experiences or access to different types of pleasure! A switch is someone who finds fulfillment in engaging in both Dominant and submissive roles, or both topping and bottoming and each individual can approach switching in kink very differently.
In this workshop we will cover general information about switching. Whether this is something you’ve already done or only dreamed about. We will also discuss tapping into your less instinctive nature in the play space, making transitions in scene, negotiating new forms of play or finding opportunities to play in different ways with self-awareness to set yourself up for steamy, dreamy nasty success! We will also be discussing the fluidity of switching and the nuance around this type of play as well as how to set up boundaries and how to explore the potential evolution of your kink identity, dynamics and needs along the life span.
Domina Franco is a NYC based sex educator, coach and writer who has been studying human sexuality for over 20 years. She is also a lifestyle and professional player in the kink scene. Over the last seven years, she has built a coaching practice that helps clients of all genders and orientations clarify, explore and enhance their sex lives.
Domina has extensive experience in subjects ranging from sexual wellness, pleasure exploration and alternative relationship models to gender expression, queer identity, and BDSM/kink practices. Using her skill set as a former semi pro wrestler, Franco formatted and facilitates a "Wrestling for Domination" workshop. She has guest lectured on BDSM/kink, sexual health, consent and body autonomy at institutions such as New York, Kansas State, Rutgers and Kean Universities. She has also worked for the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom training healthcare and human service providers how to provide more supportive and affirming care to kinky folks.
